Back to the Cul De Sac

The first part of the episode begins with Paige driving away from the Sumner Ranch with Greg pursuing her. She wants a baby and he doesn't. She leaves Knots Landing but not before kissing Greg goodbye. This is Nicollette Sheridan's only appearance in the show. It then cuts to the opening sequence.

The opening sequence featured an updated version of the original theme tune and showed clips of the cast then and now.

Mack is working on case over the closure of one of Gary's factories, which Greg had bought. Gary had made Greg sign an agreement stating he would not close the factory but he did. Mack thinks he's got a case but needs to find the file, which is in storage. One of the factory workers is Robert Symons, an old flame of Abby's.

Meanwhile back on the cul de sac its Mack and Karen's 15th wedding anniversary party at Val's. The party was a great excuse for guest appearances from Olivia, Ginger, Diana and Michael. Abby's son Brian is also at the party. Abby reveals she is moving to Malibu much to Val's delight.

After the party Meg asks Karen and Mack who her real parents are. Karen thinks she should be told the truth but Mack is set against it.

Val has exciting news her book "Hostage" is being made into a film!

Back at the Sumner Ranch Anne Matheson comes back from France in typical style; nagging the cab driver. Nick dumped her for another woman and now she claims to have psychic powers.

Valene goes to the studio about her film and is excited to spot Michelle Lee! She meets Clay McKinney who will be writing the script with her. He seems very fond of the drink. Not a good sign.

Meanwhile Abby's is about to move when she is told that she owes the IRS a million dollars and that all her assets have been frozen.
She has to ask Karen if she can live with her but she has a plan to make money. Abby knows that Greg needs the file over Mack's case and so she gets Greg to employ her to get the file. Gary has the file so Abby goes to work for Gary much to Karen's displeasure.

Kate returns to Knots Landing with a four-year-old child: Molly.
Gary is shocked to find out that he is Molly's father and tells Kate he isn't sure whether he wants to see Molly. Kate meanwhile has struck up a relationship with Abby's son Brian.

Clay takes the credit for some of some of Val's work and Val is furious. After a party they argue when he tries to kiss her and we see him lying dead in the pool.

Mack and Karen are still arguing over what to tell Meg about her parentage and Mack's moves out.

Abby meanwhile blackmails Robert into breaking into Gary's factory and getting the files. Abby and Robert where at university together and Robert murdered his best friend of his affair with Abby. Abby told the police it was nothing to do with Robert and he got off but was in debt to Abby.

Val is questioned over Clays murder but is let off. She and Gary argue over Kate and Molly but everything gets back to normal when Brian and Kate announce that she is pregnant.

Robert breaks into the factory and accidentally kills a security guard.
Sumner and Mack come to an agreement and he no longer requires the files. When Robert finds this out he goes mental.

Meg discovers that Greg is her father and goes to see him at the ranch. Karen allows her to spend the night there. She watches Laura's taped farewell (which by the way, did not feature the voice of Constance McCashin!! I was raging!) When Mack finds out she's there he goes over there in a rage bursting through the gates. He almost attacks Greg but Meg spots Robert in the house who's trying to get revenge on Sumner. She screams and Greg and Mack get him out. Greg looks hurt when Meg rushes to Mack her father when it comes down to it.

Karen and Mack put their problems behind them and reunite.

Greg realises he needs a break and to get away. He puts Abby in charge of the Thailand Operations.
